    Joanna Weston

Joanna’s songs combine beautiful melodies with honest, heart on sleeve stories that are never sentimental and delivered with a powerful yet angelic voice, which is so hypnotic it draws you in close and leaves you wanting more.
She grew up in a music loving family in London, surrounded by the music of Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Neil Young. Her more rec
ent musical influences are many, varied and include artists such as Beth Orton, Annie Lennox, Feist, Tracy Chapman, Eddi Reader, Roisin Murphy, Ray Lamontagne and John Mayer.
From a very early age she was always happiest either when singing, dancing or acting. At the age of 14 her older brother bought his first guitar so they spent many a night writing and performing songs together just for fun. It was only after she moved to Guildford in Surrey and attended a vocal course at the ACM in 2003 that she took her singing seriously.
She joined an originals band as lead singer with other like-minded musicians from the course. In 2006 she performed as part of the duo Weston and Schonning, before picking up the guitar herself and going it alone to create her own unique sound
