  • Listen Again: DJ Shep – Breaks Of Dawn 20.04.14

    kendra-morris-banshee

DJ Shep stands in for Big Red for one week only, bringing his own selection of lazy, laid back Sunday morning musical treats. Musically the selection flows from jazz, funk and soul, including a first play for a new track from The Impellers, through to instrumental hip hop beats and taking the odd deviation into the back catalogues of some very unlikely artists like James Last and Barbra Streisand. The show also features an exclusive interview with US singer/songwriter Kendra Morris carried out by Luke HC who caught up with her on her recent UK tour. KFMP: Breaks Of Dawn …

  • Amy on her work experience with Kane

    2014-04-11 13.27.35

My Time at Kane FM Whilst studying my second year in Music Journalism I had the task of finding work experience and radio is something I have always been interested in. And I wasn’t wrong. Within the first 20 minutes of being at Kane I was put in the studio with Dave and he already had me talking on air with him. It is actually more nerve racking then you think. The DJ’s are all bubbly and friendly and make you feel part of the family from the start. Jenniann and Dave are the people who keep you going and …

Those that just wanted to listen to music sat colouring patterns and doing designs around the Kane fm font. We have chosen the two best designs done by Emma and Jody. Well done you two for …

  • Rory More Looking for Lazlo

    rorymore02

Electric organist Rory More is still the one-stop shop for melody-intense grooves, dusty oscillations and liltingly hip lounge pop vocal excursions. It began with the über organtastic loungsters Les Hommes – the retro moderne jazz exotica trio who swung their way around much of Europe in the early 2000s. Still ensconced within a uniquely niched jazz pop panoramica, and after a decade of solidly collectible 12s and 45s, Rory More’s curiously seductive and unapologetically magical mondo moods have maintained his profile at medium-cool status. Rory More’s new long player Looking for Lazlo is a concept album of sorts with motifs …
