About this Kane FM story
Hi, my name is Andrew and I chose to have my work experience at Kane FM after going to a careers fair at Surrey Sports Park. During my time at Kane, I have had the opportunity to take part in various activities such as using a Launchpad, mixing DJ tracks, making a pre-recorded show, and presenting a live show. All the staff at Kane FM are kind and very informative. During my work experience I have learnt a huge amount; from the history of the radio station (e.g. Kane FM was once a pirate radio station), to how to create a piece of house music using Ableton Live software.
Another highlight was presenting a live show, it was great to see the people texting in and showing support; in return we could give them a positive shout out. I think that my work experience has inspired me to continue with music in any way I can and has given me an urge to try and become a better DJ. Also, the work experience has made me appreciate house music more than I did before. In short, I have thoroughly enjoyed my work experience at Kane FM and would recommend it to other students looking for something unique to do.
