We spoke to writer and recording artist, Gid Sedgwick about his new collaborative single ‘As It Rains’.
First of all, its an amazing track with a great charity behind it. How did this collaboration come about?
Ashley Wallbridge & myself had been talking about the idea of doing a track together after the recommendation of Trance music producer, Allen Watts. Once we started to bounce this idea about it was clear we had our winner!
What inspired you to create the track?
Quite simply, I was in the car on the way home one day and it began raining when the idea for the hook popped into my head, but with no actual lyrics at that time I just recorded the melody into my phone for later use. Trying a few different ideas over the next few days eventually the song was done!
What made you choose the charity ‘@ditchthelabel’ and what does it mean to you?
Ditch the Label is a charity focused on mental health which really resonated with all of us. We wanted to make a feel good track to bring a little positivity to anyone who might be struggling in these dark times!
Do you have any other collaborative tracks in the works?
Ash & I do have a few song ideas still up in the air but if/when we finish them i’m not sure! Once the right vibe of a song like ‘As It Rains’ hits us we’ll no doubt pursue it!
