About this Kane FM story
Hailing from West London Born and Bred, Grime Producer ZimZima grew up with a huge musical background starting from his father who is his greatest influence. From the age of 9 he was in the studio watching his dad record his album which in turn influenced him to follow suit. Growing up he was exposed to a variety of music styles from Rap, HipHop, RnB, Bollywood, Punjabi, Bhangra, UK Garage, House, Grime and more. It was when the gritty, bouncy and heavy bass synths of the UK house, bassline and especially the Grime scene made him start making beats at the young age of 16.
Fast forward to now, having taken a large gap in music and personal situations in his life it has made him take his music more seriously. “Music made the ability for me to stay sane during the pandemic and job loss after years of studying and working on my professional career”. ZimZima took this time to work on his craft and since has gained the attention of notable MCs and Artists & Producers in the UK music scene. He has worked on and released music with DJ Slimzee, appeared in producer competitions which allowed his music to be showcased in the top 5 of the Hardest Beats mixtape Vol. 2 2020 streamed on all of linkuptv’s channels. He then went on to come 3rd in the Sharky Major Feat. Manga ‘For the music’ challenge and have his version released on all major streaming platforms.
His instrumentals have been spun by notable DJs such as DJ Slimzee, Garna & SpookyBizzle. His music reached the airwaves of Rinse FM, Dejavu FM, KANE FM, Pulse 88, Pie Radio, Croydon FM, Mode London, Unity and much more. His production caught the attention of legendary grime MC and OGz Founder Jendor who he is working extensively with. This has resulted in ZimZima now producing for the Hypontik Rythmz Grime Collective consisting of Jendor, DJ Jeddah, KDot Kidman and Pepper. He also has expressed his love for the House music scene. He has since released his debut track ‘Back and Forth’ a deep house song under Albom Records. He describes his sound as ‘very gritty, some dark melodies and some to just bang in the clubs’ he incorporates a lot of his cultured background in his production.
He has current projects in the works with some artists that are looking to work with him. He is just getting started as his ambitions are to work with various artists in the music industry, release more and more music in whatever genre or style that he can get his hands on. “If you want to understand me, listen to my production, my music expresses me in ways I can’t”.
