A solitary annoying sound, that only you can hear, in one ear, both, or in the head, also known as Head noise. Whistling, buzzing, humming, ringing, or similar, with no outside root. Any of the above, then you could be experiencing Tinnitus, derived/ inferred from the Latin word meaning to ring.
Worldwide, common, found in all age groups, including children, yet it is not a disease or illness.
Known causes, stress, anxiety, infection, hearing loss, and exposure to loud sounds.
Occupational endangerment in many a profession, not just the DJ/ Musician, also a risk in some sports, as well as those, continuously exposed to loud sounds, unprotected, in the nearness. We are at risk if we don’t reduce our volumes and listening times on our personal audio players.
Taking care of our ears is extremely important as well as essential, for everyday life. Should you experience Tinnitus, then do check in with your GP.
There is no cure yet, for Tinnitus, but there is support to help manage it, as well as research, ongoing.

Do join us for our Special Bass Invaders Awareness Show for Tinnitus Week 2020, and Special guest Ben Darnton, Independent record shop owner/manager of Bens Collectors Records.
Ben has always loved music, records and going to gigs. His record selling career began in 1981, whilst still at school, in a record shop at the back of a collectors toyshop in Godalming, Surrey. From there he went on to run the Collectors Record Centre, in Guildford, Surrey, until 1991, then opening his first shop that same year in Farnham, Surrey. Ben missed too many of his friends in Guildford, so eventually in 1993, opened the shop at 5, Tunsgate, Guildford, Surrey, where he has been ever since.
Ben also runs the monthly Guildford Record Fair, at the Historical Guildhall, which attracts over 500 people, through the door each time. He also finds time to run a monthly Jazz night at the Growlers and Cans in Chertsey street, Guildford Surrey, on the last Wednesday of the month.
Bens Collector Records, is a well established Record shop and most definitely a place to visit, take time out and enjoy a nostalgic search amongst a huge collection of Vinyl, CDs, Cassettes, even the 8- track cartridge, can be found, not forgetting a most enjoyable chat with Ben Darnton, himself.
