About this Kane FM story
Kane FM is looking for a collection of positive storytellers, spoken word artists, comedy writers or speakers to tell their ‘change’ stories for the ‘Changing the Community’ series project. The sharing of stories is accompanied by a Trance DJ for a live music mash-up. To create a storytelling journey that will change the community, so us listeners, no matter where we are, can feel connected.
This years theme is ‘Change’, Change; whether that be about our ever changing weathers or to our radically differing society; change can be scary so that’s why the ‘changing the community’ project is here to allow you to feel supported whilst change happens, so we can creatively spread positivity throughout the Guildford community and beyond.
Our submission’s explore storytelling with being conscious of the planet and its needs, mental health, change in society, personal experiences and kindness.
Esme, the creative mind behind the ‘changing the community’ project thought about the idea when she participated in a workshop once, where there was an mc sharing an inspiring story over trance music. “The build up was so electric, our bodies merged into one. I wanted to recreate where trance music is played to enhance the stories being shared on the radio.” At Kane FM we believe that being able to express and communicate through voice and music strengthens and supports our young people mentally to relieve them from their daily pressures which in turn may even enhance performance and confidence levels.
If you are aged between 14-25 years Kane FM wants speaking artists and DJs to be a part of Changing the Community series - a journey that enhances personal stories, to inspire and change for the better.
