Kaya on her Work Experience

About this Kane FM story

For work experience I chose Kane FM, I was directed by careers advisor to come to Kane because I had an interest in the media department. I went to the placement with Milly, who I also go to school with. During the course of the week I’ve had many learning opportunities that I know I would never experience anywhere else. On Monday, I learnt how to create a deep house song using a launchpad, I enjoyed this because it made me realise how creative I am, as well as this I took part in a live show and also spoke on the mic. Tuesday, I learnt how to mix songs together which was fun because it gave us an insight on what famous DJs do. Wednesday was my favourite part of the week, because Milly and I recorded a pre-recorded show. At first, I wasn’t as confident but in the end, I really enjoyed it as I felt more relaxed and fun. We took part on a live show Thursday, again like the pre-recorded show I was nervous but in the end, I really did enjoy it. I’m really glad I chose Kane FM as my work experience week placement, it gave me a chance to widen my insight into a radio station as well as my career horizon in the future.
