Alchemist aka Alex, is a 26-year-old producer and DJ, originally from Madeira, Portugal. Raised in Devon, England, and now based in Surrey, Alchemist’s musical journey began at a young age. His passion for music production started when he was just 12 years old, experimenting with a cracked version of Logic to create quirky tracks that are still hidden away in his vault today. At 14, he taught himself guitar and later went on to join a trio, touring Europe at 16 and 17.

While Alchemist initially aspired to be a studio engineer, his path took a turn after he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production. After completing his studies and navigating the challenges brought on by COVID, he realized his true calling was creating music of his own.

Alchemist’s debut albums, ‘Rufige Dreams’ and ‘Alchemy 101’, showcase his deep-rooted love for old-school jungle and 90’s drum and bass. His production style blends nostalgic rave sounds with new, innovative elements and heavy basslines. He continues to spend a lot of time in the studio, working on a highly anticipated new album, set to release in early summer 2025.

His career so far has been marked by invaluable networking and collaborations with both established artists and up-and-coming talents. Alchemist believes that building connections is one of the most important aspects of being an artist, and it’s something that keeps him inspired and motivated; with a passion for pushing the boundaries of sound and a commitment to his craft.

Al Luckett has been DJing since the 1980s, beginning with acid house parties and raves before performing at venues and events across the south coast. His journey has included sets at Sterns, Atlantis, Menage a Trois, Golden Hill Fort parties and numerous boat parties, as well as appearances across the UK, Europe and the United States.

Al’s sound is rooted in deep, vocal and tech house, shaped by more than three decades of collecting and playing music. He has also worked in production and has run The Vinyl Sessions since 2011. On The Cadence Show, Al shares groove-led selections, guest appearances and special vinyl sessions drawn from his extensive collection.

Altered Concept hosts Underground Frequencies, exploring minimal, liquid and darker drum and bass alongside UK garage and deep 140. The show combines carefully selected music with guest mixes and interviews from emerging and established artists.

Anna Kiss has been DJing and broadcasting since 1999, with a sound rooted in house, garage and bass music. Her journey has included an early residency in Ayia Napa and a long-running connection with underground radio.

She was part of Kane FM’s pilot broadcast in 2004 and continues to bring energetic, bass-led selections to the station.

DJ Chud has been collecting vinyl and DJing for more than 30 years. An original member of the Steel Devils crew, he is also an ITF and DMC finalist with a reputation for energetic, crowd-focused sets.

Dusted travels through hip-hop, funk, soul, drum and bass and breaks, with vinyl at the heart of the show.

Conrad Koziol is a lifelong music collector whose selections move through acid, funk, soul, jazz, deep house, hip-hop, drum and bass and Detroit-influenced sounds. His broad musical experience gives each Sunday Shuffle appearance a different direction.

David Coyle, known as DecoyAudio, is a British producer and DJ whose journey began in the underground music scene in the 1990s and 2000s. His genre-crossing selections blend house, trance, techno and ambient music.

Da Vinci Sound was founded in 1996 & is a collective of Singers, Musicians, Producers & DJs from various genres, who have come together to produce, remix and DJ Roots inspired music. Da Vinci Sound host The 1-1-01 Sessions every Saturday 11am GMT

Detour is a vinyl-only selector with three decades of experience and a DMC France championship to his name. Blending the technical precision of a battle DJ with the nuanced ear of a producer, he uses his personal archive of over 800 records to construct immersive journeys across Jazz, Hip-Hop, House, Leftfield Bass and DnB. Dom Hodge has been digging for records since he was old enough to flip through a crate, and he hasn’t stopped since. A lifelong collector and beatmaker, he has hunted down vinyl in Jakarta, Rio, LA, Inverness and anywhere with a record shop and a good story behind the counter.

On Unwind Your Mind, Dom takes you on a musical trip through new and classic sounds, all tied together with a funky, jazzy thread. Eclectic by nature and soulful by instinct, expect the unexpected - but always with a smile.

Doobie J began DJing at house parties in the mid-1990s. After a spinal injury in 1999, he continued building his musical career, founding Citrus Sound Records and producing and remixing music for a range of artists and labels.

His return to the decks led to the Citrus Sound Show and a renewed focus on soulful, uplifting club music.

Dr George is an accomplished and versatile DJ, playing a unique mix of Breaks, Leftfield, Indie Dance, Techno, Electro, Drum n Bass and Jungle - with a bit of science thrown in for good measure.

She has honed her skills and unique mix of sounds over a 20+ year DJ career, spanning from student radio and festivals, through to private parties.

She enjoys providing a platform for local producers, chatting about music and regularly updating listeners on new science discoveries.

The Spacehopper Odyssey aims to take us all on a Zero G journey with positive vibrations, sheer bassline epicness, and as wide a variety of good vibes as possible. Dr George has been with Kane since 2015 and loves the tactile two-way equilibrium of broadcasting live.

Evil Smarty brings a smooth blend of deep disco, house and electro to Project Bango Radio, centred on soulful grooves, feel-good energy and deeper rhythms.

Freja.Lucy explores deep four-to-the-floor music, techno, dub and drum and bass, with a focus on sounds rarely heard on commercial radio.

Gary Mac is a long-standing figure in underground dance music. He founded Point Blank FM in 1994 and later developed Release Radio into a licensed commercial DAB station.

His Kane FM selections range from deep and soulful house to classic Balearic music, with regular vinyl-focused sessions and an emphasis on letting the music speak for itself.

Hightower is a South West London DJ and vinyl collector whose love of jungle and drum and bass began in the mid-1990s. His selections also reach into house, breakbeat, reggae and hip-hop, reflecting a wide-ranging approach to underground music.

Ian was nicknamed Larry by friends because of his love for Larry Levan. With 35 years in and around the scene, he brings an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, soul, disco, boogie, soulful house and deep house to Kane FM.

His selections are rooted in music with feeling, chosen to move the listener and enrich the soul.

JAMI3 is an emerging house DJ from Surrey whose sound blends minimal, deep tech and tech house. His sets focus on rolling basslines, underground grooves and dancefloor energy.

Jammin’ with Jamo combines new releases, unreleased music and discoveries from the Guildford area and beyond.

Jazz Jon has being playing in and around Guildford since 1990. Jon specialises in the Soul/Funk/Jazz groove and is famous for playing the original vinyl and also for crate diggin’ in the states.

Jon first started D.J’ing at the Guildford Underground with a night called the “Vinyl Frontier” He then became one of the “Connected Vibes” trio who ran the famous nights at the Cannon cellar bar & Pews.

He has also worked with Ian Clark and Malcolm Taylor doing a night at Bojanglez in Guildford called Stomped & Wasted. Then teaming up with famous Soul Weekender DJ Chris Brown and the “Acid Jazz Magic Bus” crew in Camberley and supporting live acts such as JTQ. Freak Power,Snowboy, and Mother Earth at Bojanglez.

Jon has also played abroad at the “Funky Buddha Lounge” downtown Chicago as support for Down To The Bone. He has also played at the Hideaway in Stretham and the Jazz Cafe in Camden supporting live acts. More recently playing at the KaneFM Funk & Soul nights.

Joe Flanagan is the founder and resident DJ of the Sunday Soul & Funk Club. He began playing at school discos in Surrey and was DJing regularly by 1989, later performing in clubs in the UK and overseas.

Joe ran Woking record shop Vinyl Frontier and co-founded the Mau-Mau nights. His sets are built around vinyl and span funk, soul, boogie, jazz-funk and related grooves.

Johnny H takes listeners through rare groove, soul, funk, jazz-funk and disco before moving into soulful and uplifting house. One Foot In The Groove is designed as an energetic start to the weekend.

LadyShift is the founder of GIRLZCAN2, an all-women DJ collective, and the founder and resident DJ of the Anti-Perfection Party, a regular event championing female DJs.

Her weekly Anti-Perfection Breakfast Show blends underground dance music with stories from music history and culture. Her sets span deep house, acid, breakbeats, electronica and leftfield grooves, combining timeless classics with fresh discoveries.

Laki has been part of Kane FM for almost 13 years and has held several venue residencies across Brighton and Guildford. Known for versatile and eclectic sets, he moves between smooth, soulful selections and deeper club sounds.

Garage and dubstep sit at the centre of his style. His supporting appearances include Om Unit, Fracture, Quartz, Loxy, Mantra, Double O, Bailey, Coco Bryce, Samurai Breaks, Dwarde, Matt Jam Lamont and Break.

Leon Webb is a wide-ranging music collector whose selections stretch from rhythm and blues, house and disco to deep dub, acid techno, drum and bass, jungle and breakbeat hardcore. His shows are driven by curiosity and a love of underground club culture.

Lewis Rew focuses on melodic house and techno, balancing atmospheric sounds with club energy. His experience includes a residency at Egg London and appearances at Pacha, Bora Bora, Ministry of Sound, Fire and Lightbox.

Luis Paris has been DJing since 1990, with appearances at clubs and events including Ministry of Sound, Cream, Clockwork Orange, Pacha and Es Paradis. He also managed the influential Plastic Fantastic record shop in Covent Garden for 12 years.

His radio background includes Release Radio, RAW UK and Dream FM, bringing decades of dance music knowledge to Kane FM.

Mandrill Sound is a sound-system crew and selector collective committed to discovering fresh underground music. Its monthly show travels through drum and bass, IDM, electro and techno, moving freely across the BPM spectrum.

Mark Edwards grew up listening to artists including George Benson and Shakatak before developing his own life in clubs and behind the decks. In 1997 he began playing for Bobby and Steve at their influential Garage City events.

His Soulful Drivetime Show combines classic and current soulful house, disco and deep house with touches of jazz, boogie and funk.

Mark J, also known as Mark Holmes, has been collecting records and digging for music since the mid-1990s. His selections move freely through ambient, reggae, soul, funk, disco, house, techno, jungle, drum and bass, dubstep, breaks, jazz and folk.

Mark James is a house music heavyweight with more than four decades of experience creating dancefloor memories from Ibiza to London. His sound is rooted in house, Balearic rhythms and underground club culture, and his impact during the 1990s led to his induction into the official Ibiza Hall of Fame.

Mark held residencies at Ibiza institutions including Pacha, Space, Amnesia, Privilege, Es Paradis and Cafe Mambo. In the UK, he became a defining force in London nightlife through Black & White Productions and Divine, alongside residencies at The Cross for Glitterati and Bagleys for Freedom.

His international career has included tours across Europe and Dubai, appearances alongside Robbie Williams, and work with brands including Hedkandi and Kinky Malinky. Today, Mark co-runs Sondela with Sarah Melon and Simon Zwa, is part of the House & Classics team, and performs on the Peach Legends UK Tour.

I began DJing in 1998 at Uni and whilst playing at “Evolution” was told by their resident DJ, that I was the most forward thinking and innovative DJs he had met. However in 2005 I had a life changing accident. The years since have seen me go through an extensive rehab programme, initially focusing on the physical impact of this. However it has always been my aspiration to return to being a professional DJ. By 2015 I started Djing at festivals and clubs and found my way onto Kane FM, where you can find me playing epic House Music and even giving you a taste of my own tracks.

Maziere mixes current releases with old-school favourites, moving between tech, vocal, funky and soulful sounds. Music is the Answer is built as an open and varied selection for house music listeners.

DJ Miss Tyson began DJing in Hastings in 1992, playing alongside Danny Howells before securing her first major break at Club UK in London. She became resident for Girls Behaving Badly and went on to play venues including The Leisure Lounge, The Coliseum, Chunnel Club, The Cross and The Gardening Club. By 1998, she was performing across the UK with Unlimited DJs and had been named UK Redemption DJ of the Year, a competition run by DJ Mag and shown on MTV. The following year, she received the Nivea Female DJ of the Year award.

Her career has taken her around the world, with residencies at db0 in Singapore, Kerris in Vancouver and Axis in Malta. She has performed at Glastonbury, T in the Park and Radio 1’s Love Parade, and held residencies at The Temple Theatre in Dublin and Funkt in Brixton. She also ran House Work at the Dogstar for five years.

DJ Miss Tyson presented a show on Shakedown FM for five years from 1995 and has appeared on Kiss FM in London and Dublin. Her television work includes Channel 4’s 4-Clubin, Meridian News, Rapture TV and Singapore television. She has released and remixed a range of tracks, worked in publicity and promotions for BPM Records, and continues to produce music.

Since 2004, she has taught vinyl DJing in schools, secure units, prisons and youth settings, specialising in behaviour management and supporting young people at risk of exclusion. Her youth work was recognised in a 2012 government education white paper, and she has an outstanding record delivering Bronze Arts Awards.

DJ Miss Tyson has broadcast on Kane FM since 2017. Her vinyl-only show, Girls Behaving Badly, celebrates the energy of 1990s house, building from classics to hard house every other Sunday from 5pm to 7pm. The show is sponsored by Jays Crew.

DJ Mystery co-hosts the Feel Good Vibez Radio Show, moving between new rave-influenced house, old-school breakbeat and classic house.

DJ Naughty, also known as Sam Williams, is an original old-school DJ with roots in house, early hardcore, jungle and tech house. She is also the author of Happydaze and the founder of underground station Radioactive FM.

Nikki T began playing records with her father at 14 and became the first female resident at Studio Valbonne and Skindles in 1983. Her career has taken her through the UK club circuit, radio, record promotion and A&R.

A dedicated vinyl specialist, she presented on Green Apple Radio from 1989 to 1991 and returned to regular broadcasting with Release Radio in 2020.

Omar B is the DJ and creator behind SoulStrong Radio Show, bringing soul, funk, disco, hip-hop and jazz-funk to Kane FM. A lifelong music lover and collector, he moves between rare grooves, forgotten gems, timeless classics and modern soul.

His shows explore the history and connections across these sounds, from SoulStrong and the Weekend Warm Up to the late-night feel of SoulStrong After Dark. The focus is always on carefully selected music, the stories behind it and the feeling it creates.

Rich T began DJing in the late 1980s and has presented on local, internet and community radio. His more recent appearances include the Let’s Love Life charity festival.

I’m Rinseton and I’ve had the honour of playing on Kane since 2015. There aren’t many genres I haven’t touched in that time, but my favourites are funkier kinds of jazz and the moodier ends of dance music from 130-170bpm.

ROJAM is a UK DJ and producer working across house, tech house, deep house and dance music. He began DJing in 2018 and later moved into production, building his own ROJAM & Friends events at Guildford’s Boileroom.

His live experience includes appearances with Utah Saints, Charlotte Plank, Stanton Warriors, James Lavelle, A.Skillz and Krafty Kuts.

Rustical and Takeda bring deeper drum and bass selections and new underground releases to No Mids For Kids.

London-based DJ Sarah Melon is an electronic music selector known for blending progressive, Afro, melodic and deep sounds into euphoric journeys. Her immersive sets are built to captivate dancefloors and lift the energy of every room.

As co-founder of Sondela Events, Sarah has established herself as a curator of nightlife culture. Her residencies and industry recognition include becoming an Ibiza Hall of Fame resident for Black & White promoter Alan Warman. She is also a member of the Beat Bunker family and part of the iconic Peach roster, touring with the Peach Legends Tour.

Sarah co-presents Perfect Motion with Mark James on Kane FM and is a member of the all-female DJ collective GIRLZCAN2. Whether broadcasting, playing under the Ibiza sun or touring stages, she continues to champion melodic house and inclusive dancefloor culture.

Scott Hutchinson hosts Feed Your Head, a platform for independent electronic music and artists. His selections combine slow, chugging and mutant disco sounds with a modern acid house outlook.

The show also features guest mixes and sets from artists around the world.

Selecta Johnny Luv brings an eclectic mixture of new releases and overlooked gems to the monthly Revolution Radio show.

DJ Shep opens Holdin’ Court at a hip-hop tempo, blending soul, drum and bass, reggae and jazz before gradually increasing the pace and closing with house music.

Simon is a DJ whose sound moves through organic house, progressive house, deep tech and deep house. His approach is shaped by a lifelong love of music, with influences spanning punk, new wave, ska, alternative rock, industrial, classical and electronic music.

He joined Kane FM in July 2025, following a residency on Release Radio from July 2023 to June 2025. His event appearances include Essence Festival of Halloween, Essence Equinox Festival, Beat Bunker, Phuture Sessions and Phuture Solstice Sessions. Closer to home, he co-founded Sondela alongside Mark James and Sarah Melon.

At the heart of Simon’s sets is a belief that music can bring people together, offering space for both release and reflection. Whether broadcasting on radio, playing a club or sharing music at an intimate gathering, he invites listeners to feel, move and let go.

Pastry Selects is hosted by Son of Paul and Phact, pushing into the deeper and darker corners of electronic music while championing London’s underground scene.

Their selections move through techno, electro, breaks and beyond, reflecting their reputation as curators of cutting-edge sounds.

Sparkie, also known as Mark Anthony, played his first DJ set in 1987 at the age of 16. His career has included a guest appearance at Renaissance and a residency at London’s Cross Club.

He describes his approach as music with a pulse, bringing an eclectic mix of rhythm-led sounds to Kane FM.

Steve Nash has collected vinyl for more than 30 years. He previously ran Elusive Vinyl, founded the Berkshire Blag parties and Se7ens night, and established Aquamelon Records.

His selections bring together funk, soul, Balearic sounds and house music, shaped by decades of record collecting and dancefloor experience.

Stewart McCrae is an original member of the Twisted Soul Collective and co-presented the Twisted Sunday Show on Kane FM for 10 years, until summer 2025.

A passionate vinyl collector, Stewart now hosts his own monthly show, selecting soul, disco, boogie, rare grooves and carefully chosen edits. His sets span standout music from the 1970s to the present day, and the show is always a pure vinyl affair.

Stitch is a UK garage DJ originally from East London. He started mixing vinyl at 14 and joined pirate radio at 16, later returning to broadcasting and performing at events across the UK.

He has toured with 3 of a Kind and supported artists including Artful Dodger, DJ Luck and MC Neat, and Wideboys.

Stylax has been collecting music since the House music scene arrived in the U.K. in the late 80’s early 90’s. As a teenager growing up around all this music he was captivated with sounds of early house music and the instrumental hip hop & trip hop sounds from Mo Wax Records & Bristol sounds from the likes of Massive Attack & Portishead. James Lavelle’s Mo Wax records bringing more experimental electronic sounds fused with hip hop from DJ Krush, DJ Shadow, Major Force et al, bringing a fresh new dimension to his passion for the hip hop sounds of Beastie Boys, Nas, Ice Cube. Many more influences, like his love of The Clash, Northern Soul, Rare Groove & Disco shape his sound as a DJ. Stylax focuses mostly on the music that first caught his attention and started his passion for music, house music. His sets mostly consist of deep house, house, disco & electronic dance music fused with the sounds of trip hop & instrumental hip hop.

Sworny brings funk, soul, jazz-funk, disco and boogie to Sunday evenings on Kane FM. The Funk Bunker combines familiar classics with rarer discoveries and an upbeat, listener-focused atmosphere.

Original first generation Junglist, DJ Tina Zanetti (Dr Penelope Wickson) is a qualified teacher and published art historian. Her interest in the intersection of global cultures is mirrored by her love of music. Growing up in the north of England in the late 1980s sparked a deep interest in underground House, Hardcore and Techno whilst her passion for Jungle and Drum and Bass spans almost 30 years.

In 1994, whilst studying History of Art and Italian at the University of Birmingham, she founded its first ever newspaper column to explore the genre. Immersed in labels such as Reinforced, V Recordings and Creative Source, her heart resides in the heady nights of Swerve, Quest and Metalheadz that defined the 1990s. However, it was only during lockdown that she was able to re-kindle her intense relationship with the scene. She spent hours developing her mixing during the pandemic’s months of isolation.

Her story was featured in an article by Dynamics UK on the impact of the COVID restrictions on the rise of female DJs and producers.

Her Jungle/Jungle DnB mixes have been selected by DJ Flight for National Prison Radio and the EQ50 mix series.

Her essay Spiritual Auras: Jungle Venues in Birmingham and the West Midlands 1993-7 has been published in the creative non-fiction anthology Venue Stories by Equinox Publishing.

Alongside her broadcasting and research, Tina is training to become an Educational Psychotherapist.

Whirlwind D has been performing and releasing records as a hip hop artist since the early 90s. He is currently signed to B-Line, has supported big acts like Public Enemy and Wu-Tang Clan , regularly plays abroad and his music is often played on BBC 6Music. As well as writing for Record Collector Magazine, he presents Kane FM’s Pioneers Hip Hop Show once a month on a Monday 9-11pm.
